X-Ray Portraits

X-Ray-Portrait, Installation, Photography,

10 Ink Jet Prints on PVC, each 140x200 cm, 2003, Festspielhaus Dresden-Hellerau

Can a head x-ray image be considered as a portrait, conveying facial features, expressions?

Another question: What is left of the identity of a person in a x-ray-image?
What means the notion identity for a portrait, simply, what is a portrait comparing with a technical x-ray-image, that appears as a portrait?

These technical images are a remnants of an archive of the Soviet military camp in Dresden-Hellerau. I have found them within my explorations of ex-Soviet military camps between 1990-1993.
